What is Electrolysis ACP?

This is an advanced technique using electrolysis to treat minor skin conditions.

How does it work?

Using a very fine sterile probe, it is inserted into the lesion. A short burst of electrical current is delivered which causes a heat or chemical reaction to destroy or cauterise the targeted tissue or vessel.

The body then naturally heals the area and the lesion shrinks or disappears.

Who is it NOT suitable for?

  • Pregnant/breastfeeding
  • Pacemaker
  • Skin infections
  • Prone to keloid scarring, post-inflammatory
    hyperpigmentation or poor healing
  • Suspicious lesions that could be cancerous and need
    dermatology review

What are the risks and downtime?

Commonly you will experience redness and a little inflammation to the treated areas which normally settles within a few hours.

Sometimes a small scab will form which will fall off in a couple of days.

Less commonly some people may develop a darker (hyperpigmentation) or lighter (hypo pigmentation)
appearance to the treated areas, or mild bruising.

Rarely, some people develop a scar or infection at the treated areas.

To reduce risks of potential complications, It is important to adhere to the advised aftercare which includes keeping the area clean and dry, avoiding heat and wearing SPF daily.

Is Electrolysis Right for You?

Does it hurt?

It is generally quite painless, maybe just a small quick sting. Numbing the area is not necessary.

How long does the procedure take?

Each session lasts up to 20 min depending on the amount/size lesions you have.

How long do results last?

Results are usually permanent but some lesions will a need repeat treatment. Lesions can recur or new ones may appear nearby.
